A Brief Update

December 10, 2007

kite_runner.jpgIt seems that work, finals, kids and preparing for Christmas all got crazy at the same time, so my poor blog has suffered. (Sorry readers.) I anticipate being back in full force after this week. In the meantime I should follow up on a pending post…

This weekend some pals and I went to see The Golden Compass. The tomato meter, my trusty source for what is good, gave this a big kersplat, but I watched anyway, since I love the book so much. The rating was most deserved. I feared the movie would try to explain too many parts of the story in too little time, and this is where it failed. Big screen Golden Compass ended up seeming really cryptic in parts. Also, some parts blatently ripped off Lord of the Rings.

I was very excited to hear one of my movie pals tell me that Ian McEwan’s Atonement has made it to the big screen. I looked this one up and heard someone mention it is the best movie of its type since The English Patient, which bored me to tears, but I’m hoping for better movie luck with this one anyway. Also, one of my very favorite books, The Kite Runner, will be brought to life in theater soon, which I always thought would transfer well visually. I’m highly looking forward to it!

wiifit1.jpgwiifit1.jpgwiifit.jpgNintendo continues to be so innovative with their gaming. During this year’s E3 they announce Wii Fit, which will be released in February. Through a balance board you can do yoga, aerobics, resistance training and the like. I can only expect this to game to be as seamless as the Wii is known for and that makes me very excited. And to think, I just got a gym membership! Check out Wii Fit’s trailor here:
